Authentication Setup

When you start WinZeal Express 3.0 for the first time, WinZeal Express will ask you to configure your Login details.

You are free to choose your login name and password. You are also required to select a secret question and type-in your answer which will be used if you forget your password.

Once you are done with the text entry, click on the Setup button. WinZeal Express will ask for your confirmation and save your login details. You can use the same combination to login to WinZeal Express the next time.

Profile Setup

Click on the Options icon in the toolbar to bring up this window.

The Profile tab enables you to change your login name, password and the Financial Year.

The Financial Year you choose here is used for generating all Year-to-Date (YTD) reports and charts. By default, WinZeal Express will choose the current year starting from January 1 to December 31.

You can click on the Update button to save your settings any time.

Note: Fields shown in BOLD are mandatory (WinZeal Express follows this convention everywhere).

Step 3

Proposal Setup

WinZeal Express is very flexible when it comes to choosing your proposal settings. If you are currently using a manual system, you can carry forward your existing formats as it is.

For example, you might have already issued Proposal No. 54 and you want WinZeal Express to start from 55. You just need to set 54 as your Last Proposal Number.

Choose a format you are comfortable with for your proposal numbers. You can choose between three entities - Number, User Code and Year. Separators can be selected as well. The preview mode shows how your format looks like.

You can also include text for your proposal header and footer. This text is automatically included whenever you generate a proposal.

Step 4

Work Order Setup

If your organization requires a Work Order to be generated, you can enable this option. A Work Order is a document generally given to the Procurement/Logistics department for further processing once an order is confirmed by a customer.

If you are currently using a manual system, you can carry forward your existing formats as it is.

For example, if your last Work Order No. was 21 and you want WinZeal Express to start from 22, you just need to set your Last Work Order Number to 21.

Choose a format you are comfortable with for your work order numbers. You can choose between three entities - Number, User Code and Year. Separators can be selected as well. The preview mode shows how your format looks like.

Step 5

Invoice Setup

WinZeal Express 3.0 comes with an invoice module. You can start issuing invoice numbers from any number of your choice.

If your last Invoice No. was 1282 and you want WinZeal Express to start from 1283, you just need to set your Last Invoice Number to 1282.

Step 6

File Locations

WinZeal Express enables you to set file locations where you would like to save your documents/reports. You can also define your Signature file, which can be included automatically whenever you generate your proposal/quotation.

Step 7

Miscellaneous

This screen is useful to setup your default currency symbol, country, GP calculation etc.

WinZeal Express uses Dollars and Cents for the default currency and small change. You can change this to your local currency and small change.

Whenever you create a new account or supplier, the country selected automatically would depend on your selection of the Default Country in this screen.

Gross Profit (GP) can be calculated in two ways using WinZeal Express. Choose the model that's appropriate for your business. Normally option 1 is the standard way for calculating GP.

If you want WinZeal Express to notify you at the System Tray for any activities pending, you can enable the "Notify me..." option. Choose the duration as per your convenience.
